Initially, how will it be determined what facilities have priority if more than six (6) facilities in one category wish to participate at a particular interchange? |

When all of the eligible facilities desiring business logo panels cannot be accommodated, the facility closest to the interchange, as measured from one approach direction at an interchange, will have first priority. |

How will the distance be measured to determine if my location meets the mileage eligibility criteria? |

A. |
The maximum distances are shown on the eligibility criteria chart found under Logo Participation Requirements. The business logo panels for which a facility is qualified shall be displayed at the interchange or intersection providing the shortest travel distance to the facility from the mainline highway in each direction of approach. At interchanges, the qualifying distance shall be measured from the gore of the first exit ramp in the direction of travel at the interchange where the business logo panel is to be displayed, along the shortest route of travel on public streets, to the first entrance for customer use for access to the facility from a public street. At intersections, the qualifying distance shall be measured in either direction on the intersecting route beginning at the centerline of the mainline roadway. |

How will the signs be maintained? |

All business logo panel and logo background sign structure maintenance will be performed by Virginia Logos or its subcontractors. |

How much will it cost to participate in the Virginia Logo Signing Program? |

$1,000 annual fee per direction at interchanges with AADT (traffic volume) of 40,000 or more per day. $800 annual fee per direction at interchanges with AADT (traffic volume) count of less than 40,000 per day. $150 annual fee per trailblazer. |

For what length of time can a contract be signed? |

Any facility may protect against “bumping“ for up to three years by locking into a multi-year contract. |

Once I am in the program, can my business logo panel be removed or “bumped“ from the logo background panel? |
|
A. |
Yes, your business logo panel will be removed if your business ceases to exist or does not meet the eligibility criteria and fails to correct the requirements not met within 30 days. You can be “bumped“ from the program at the conclusion of your contract term based on the program's “bumping“ policy as developed by VDOT.
